MITSUBISHI 3000GT VR-4 FITMENT

The Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 (1991–1999) is a twin-turbo, all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering technological tour de force from the golden age of Japanese engineering. It uses a 5x114.3 bolt pattern with a 67.1mm center bore. At nearly 3,800 lbs, the 3000GT is the heaviest car in the 90s JDM legend class — forged wheels are strongly recommended to offset its considerable heft and improve brake cooling, acceleration, and handling balance.

Quick Reference
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3  |  Center Bore: 67.1mm  |  Hub Type: Conical Seat  |  Lug Torque: 100 Nm (74 ft-lb)
AWD/AWS Warning: The AWD and active four-wheel steering systems require square tire setups (matching front and rear) to operate correctly. Staggered tire diameters can damage the drivetrain.

18" Square — The Street Standard

18 inches is the modern standard for the 3000GT, providing excellent tire availability while filling the car's aggressive, wide bodylines perfectly.

01

18" Flush Square

A modern wheel size that fills the 3000GT's body lines perfectly.

  • Recommended Size: 18x9 ET35 all around
  • Street Tires: 245/40R18 or 255/40R18 Square
  • Performance Tires: 265/35R18 Square

Why this setup: The 3000GT's wide body accommodates 9-inch-wide wheels easily. ET32–ET40 is the safe range. 255/40R18 provides the best balance of grip and sidewall protection. The factory brakes are marginal for the car's weight — lightweight forged wheels improve cooling by reducing thermal mass at the rotor.

17" Square — Track & Period Correct

For those who want to maintain a period-correct 90s aesthetic or maximize sidewall for track use, 17 inches is the ideal choice.

02

17" Lightweight Track Square

Maximizing grip for HPDE — wider rubber with more sidewall protection.

  • Recommended Size: 17x9 ET35 all around
  • Track Tires (200TW): 255/40R17 or 275/40R17 Square

Why this setup: 17 inches opens up the full range of motorsport tire compounds. 275/40R17 is the widest tire that fits without fender modification. At nearly 3,800 lbs, every pound saved in unsprung weight is amplified — target sub-18lb forged wheels. The taller sidewall helps absorb curbing and improves ride quality.
