PORSCHE 718 / 981 CAYMAN GT4 FITMENT

The Porsche Cayman GT4 (both 981 and 718 generations) represents the pinnacle of the mid-engine Porsche platform. Utilizing GT3-derived front suspension and massive brakes, it requires precision wheel fitments. It uses Porsche's standard 5x130 bolt pattern with a 71.6mm center bore. The factory 20-inch wheels are already excellent, but aftermarket forged options allow for optimized track offsets, slightly wider footprints, and weight reduction.

Quick Reference
Bolt Pattern: 5x130  |  Center Bore: 71.6mm  |  Hub Type: Ball Seat (R14)  |  Lug Torque: 160 Nm (118 ft-lb)
Brake Clearance: The GT4 features massive 380mm steel brakes (or 410mm PCCBs). 20-inch wheels are standard. 19-inch wheels can clear the steel brakes with specific barrel profiles, but will NOT clear PCCBs.

20" Staggered — The OEM+ Track Standard

Maintaining the factory 20-inch diameter allows you to reuse factory tire sizes or step up slightly in width while providing perfect clearance for all brake options.

01

20" Optimized Stagger

Perfecting the GT4's stance and increasing track width for stability.

  • Recommended Front: 20x8.5 ET50
  • Recommended Rear: 20x11 ET45
  • Factory Tires: 245/35R20 Front, 295/30R20 Rear
  • Plus-Size Tires: 255/35R20 Front, 305/30R20 Rear (requires camber adjustment)

Why this setup: The factory offsets (ET61 front, ET50 rear) tuck the wheels slightly. Moving to ET50 front and ET45 rear widens the track width by 22mm up front and 10mm in the rear, improving turn-in and cornering stability while sitting perfectly flush. These offsets are proven to work with aggressive track camber settings (-2.5 to -3.0 degrees).

19" Staggered — Dedicated Track Weapon

For dedicated track cars with steel brakes, stepping down to a 19-inch diameter reduces rotational mass and opens up access to a wider variety of track-focused tire compounds and lower operating costs.

02

19" Motorsport Stagger

Maximum unsprung weight reduction and motorsport tire selection.

  • Recommended Front: 19x8.5 ET50
  • Recommended Rear: 19x11 ET45
  • Track Tires (200TW): 255/35R19 Front, 295/35R19 or 305/30R19 Rear
  • WARNING: Will NOT clear Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).

Why this setup: A 19-inch forged wheel saves significant weight at the most critical outer edge of the wheel, dramatically improving the GT4's acceleration, braking, and damper response. The taller sidewall provides more compliance over track curbing and a more forgiving breakaway characteristic at the limit.

GT4 Tire Selection Guide

  • Street & Light Track: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S — excellent daily drivability and wet performance while retaining capable dry grip.
  • Track Focus (OEM): Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 or Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2 — the factory ultra-high-performance options.
  • Time Attack / Autocross (200TW): Bridgestone RE-71RS or Yokohama Advan A052 — maximum peak grip for competition (best utilized on 19" setups).
