PORSCHE 911 WIDEBODY (991/992) FITMENT
The 911 Carrera 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S (991 and 992 generations) feature dramatically wider rear fender flares than the standard Carrera. This extra body width demands lower offsets and wider wheels to achieve a proper flush fitment — and opens the door to truly massive rear tire widths (315–325mm) that give these AWD and rear-engine cars extraordinary traction. These models are available in both 5x130 and Center Lock configurations — always confirm your hub type before ordering.
Quick Reference
Bolt Pattern: 5x130 (5-lug) or Center Lock | Center Bore: 71.6mm (5-lug) / 84mm (CL) | Lug Torque: 130 Nm (5-lug) / 450 Nm (CL)
Hub Type Warning: Verify whether your 911 is 5x130 or Center Lock before ordering. 992 Turbo S models are Center Lock. 991 Turbo S is typically Center Lock. C4S and GTS are typically 5-lug. Ordering the wrong hub type means the wheels will NOT mount.
20"/21" Staggered — Street Standard
The 992 Turbo S ships with a 20/21" stagger from the factory. This combination provides the dramatic visual impact that defines the widebody 911 silhouette — massive rear wheels filling every millimeter of the flared fenders.
01
20/21" Flush Street Stagger
Filling the massive rear fenders while maintaining proper front clearance.
- Recommended Front: 20x9 ET45
- Recommended Rear: 21x12 ET45
- Street Tires: 255/30R20 Front, 315/30R21 Rear
- Performance Tires: 265/30R20 Front, 325/25R21 Rear
Why this setup: The widebody 911's massive rear flares demand a 12" rear wheel to look proportionally correct. The ET45 offset on a 12" wheel places the outer lip exactly at the fender edge for a flush, factory-perfect stance. The 315–325mm rear tire provides extraordinary rear traction for the Turbo S's 640 hp — enough grip that the car's launch control can deploy every bit of power without wheelspin. Switching from the heavy factory cast/forged wheels to Grip Theory forged construction saves 4–6 lbs per corner, which directly improves turn-in response and reduces brake fade during spirited driving.
20" Square — Track Configuration
For track-focused widebody 911s, a uniform 20-inch diameter front and rear simplifies tire logistics, provides more sidewall for curb protection, and gives access to the best Cup Car tire sizes in the 200TW and R-compound categories.
02
20" Track Stagger (same diameter)
Optimized for Porsche Cup Car tire sizes and serious track day abuse.
- Recommended Front: 20x9.5 ET45
- Recommended Rear: 20x12.5 ET40
- Track Tires (200TW): 265/35R20 Front, 325/30R20 Rear
- R-Compound: 275/35R20 Front, 335/30R20 Rear
Why this setup: Running the same 20" diameter front and rear means you only need one set of tire sizes — no more stocking separate 20" and 21" tires for track day. The taller sidewall at 20" (vs. 21") provides significantly more protection against curb damage and rim strikes. This setup aligns with Porsche Cup Car sizing, making tire sourcing easy for competitive track use. The wider 9.5" front (vs. factory 9") also increases front grip, reducing the understeer that AWD Turbos can exhibit at the limit of adhesion.

Generation-Specific Notes
While both generations share the widebody philosophy, there are important fitment differences.
- 991 Widebody (C4S/GTS/Turbo): Typically runs 20" all around from the factory. Recommended: 20x9 ET45 Front / 20x12 ET45 Rear. PCCB and iron brake clearances are identical at 20".
- 992 Widebody (C4S/GTS/Turbo): Factory moves to 20/21" stagger. The wider 992 body accommodates up to 12.5" rear wheels. ET42–ET48 is the safe range for both axles.
- Center Lock models: 991 Turbo S and all 992 Turbo S are Center Lock. 991/992 C4S and GTS are 5x130. Always confirm before ordering — the center hub diameter and mounting interface are completely different.

Widebody 911 Tire Selection Guide
The widebody 911's AWD system and rear-engine layout create unique tire demands — the rear tires do the heavy lifting for both traction and cornering.
- Street Performance: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S — the default for street-driven Turbos and C4S models. Excellent wet grip, low noise, and a wide operating temperature range.
- Street/Track Hybrid: Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 — the factory spec on many Turbo S models. Significantly more dry grip, but less effective in cold or wet conditions.
- Track Day (200TW): Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R — designed for cars in this power class. Exceptional heat tolerance for sustained high-speed lapping.
- Competition: Nankang AR-1 (in 325/30R20 rear) — the best value R-compound available in the massive rear sizes these cars require.
