AUDI R8 FITMENT
The Audi R8 (both Gen 1 and Gen 2) is a highly capable everyday supercar. It shares its mid-engine architecture and 5.2L V10 with the Lamborghini Huracán. Both generations utilize a 5x112 bolt pattern with a 57.1mm center bore. The factory wheels are typically a staggered 20/20 or 20/21 setup, and because of the R8's sophisticated Quattro AWD system, maintaining proper rolling diameters is absolutely essential.

Quattro Warning: The AWD system requires matched rolling diameters front and rear. Mismatched diameters can overheat and damage the viscous coupling or multi-plate clutch.

Why this setup: This stagger matches the Gen 2 Performance models' factory geometry perfectly. The 21-inch rear fills the massive wheel well, while the 20-inch front retains steering feel and avoids rubbing the inner fender liners. A forged 21x11.5 rear wheel provides a significantly wider contact patch while weighing less than the factory 20-inch cast/flow-formed options.

If you're taking your R8 to the track or carving canyons, a 20-inch setup front and rear provides access to much better tire compounds (like Michelin Cup 2) than a 21-inch rear allows, while reducing unsprung mass.

- Brake Note: 20-inch wheels clear the factory Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB).
Why this setup: The 20-inch rear wheel significantly reduces rotational inertia compared to a 21-inch setup, improving acceleration and braking response. The taller sidewall on the 20-inch rear tire provides more compliance over curbing on track and better longitudinal traction on corner exit.

- Street Performance: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S — the benchmark exotic car tire. Outstanding wet and dry grip with predictable breakaway.
- Track Day / Canyon: Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 — standard on many Porsche GT cars, offering immense dry grip at the cost of wet performance and tread life.
- All-Season: Not recommended for the R8 platform due to the high performance threshold of the chassis.
