CHEVROLET CAMARO (6TH GEN) FITMENT
The 2016–2024 Alpha-platform Camaro is GM's most sophisticated sports car chassis ever produced. The lightweight Alpha architecture provides exceptional rigidity-to-weight ratio, and the 1LE track package set the benchmark for factory track-ready American muscle. The key challenge with the Camaro is its notoriously tight inner fender clearance — unlike the Mustang's generous wheel wells, the Camaro requires careful attention to inner barrel dimensions and spoke geometry to avoid contact with suspension components and the massive Brembo calipers.

Note: Same bolt pattern as E9X BMWs and the Civic Type R, but the center bore differs (66.9mm vs 72.56mm vs 64.1mm). Always use hub-centric rings.
20" Staggered — Street & 1LE Style
20 inches is the most popular diameter for SS and ZL1 builds, maintaining the factory proportions while widening the contact patch significantly. The 1LE track package's aggressive staggered sizing has become the community standard for street builds.

20" 1LE-Style Stagger

- Recommended Front: 20x10 ET30
- Recommended Rear: 20x11 ET35
- Street Tires: 285/30R20 Front, 305/30R20 Rear
- Performance Tires: 295/30R20 Front, 315/30R20 Rear
- Brake Note: SS 1LE and ZL1 Brembo calipers clear at 20". Base V6/Turbo brakes clear everything. ET30 front is the sweet spot — lower offsets risk inner barrel contact with the front suspension components.
Why this setup: The Alpha platform's relatively light weight (3,350–3,700 lbs depending on model) makes it extremely responsive to wider tires. The 305mm rear tire on the LT1/LT4's 455–650 hp makes a massive difference in corner exit traction. Forged wheels save 5–7 lbs per corner versus the heavy factory cast 20" wheels, creating an immediately noticeable improvement in the Camaro's already impressive turn-in response.
18" Square — Track Weapon
For dedicated grip builds, time attack, and HPDE, the 18-inch square setup is king. It's lighter, cheaper to run through tires, and enables front-to-rear rotation — essential for extending tire life at the track.

- Recommended Size: 18x10 ET30 all around
- Track Tires (200TW): 285/35R18 or 295/35R18 Square
- R-Compound: 305/35R18 Square
- Brake Warning: ZL1 6-piston Brembo calipers are extremely tight at 18" — verify spoke-to-caliper clearance carefully with our team before ordering. SS 1LE 4-piston Brembos clear with most spoke designs. Base/SS non-1LE brakes clear everything.
Why this setup: A square setup transforms the Camaro from a muscle car into a precision track tool. Equal-width tires front and rear eliminate understeer and create a neutral, exploitable balance at the limit. The 18" diameter provides more sidewall for curb compliance on aggressive track surfaces. On the 1LE (which already comes with a limited-slip differential, magnetic ride, and cooled brakes), the only thing holding the car back is unsprung weight — forged 18" wheels at this size can weigh under 20 lbs each, saving 7–9 lbs per corner versus the factory 20" cast wheels.

The Camaro's exceptional chassis balance rewards aggressive tire upgrades — the right compound unlocks the Alpha platform's full potential.
- Street Performance: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S — the daily benchmark. Excellent wet grip and a progressive limit that works beautifully with the Camaro's excellent chassis balance.
- Street/Track Hybrid: Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 — the factory 1LE tire. Designed specifically for this class of car. Exceptional heat tolerance and consistent grip over long sessions.
- Track Day (200TW): Nitto NT01 — outstanding heat management for heavy, powerful cars. Available in 295/35R18 and 305/35R18 for the square track setup.
- Time Attack: Yokohama Advan A052 — highest peak grip. The Camaro on A052s in square 18" is one of the fastest configurations in the American muscle time attack class.
- Drag Racing: Nitto NT555 RII — maximum longitudinal traction for straight-line builds.
Inner Fender Clearance — The Camaro's Unique Challenge
Unlike the Mustang, the Camaro has tight inner fender clearances that can catch inexperienced wheel shoppers off guard:
- Front inner clearance: The front upper control arm sits close to the inner wheel barrel. Wheels with deep inner barrels (common in low-offset designs) can contact the control arm at full compression. ET30 is the recommended minimum for the front axle.
- Rear strut interference: The rear strut tower is positioned close to the inner barrel. The rear offset must be ET32+ for stock-body cars to prevent strut contact.
