BMW G20 / G21 3 SERIES FITMENT

The G20 (Sedan) and G21 (Touring) are BMW's modern 3 Series — refined, technology-rich daily drivers that respond incredibly well to wheel upgrades. Both models moved to the 5x112 bolt pattern, which means older F30-generation 5x120 wheels will NOT fit. The 330i and M340i share identical wheel well dimensions, but the M340i's B58 twin-turbo engine (382 hp) benefits significantly from wider tires, especially at the rear where the additional traction lets you exploit the car's performance potential.

Quick Reference
Bolt Pattern: 5x112  |  Center Bore: 66.6mm  |  Hub Type: Conical Seat  |  Lug Torque: 120 Nm (89 ft-lb)

19" Staggered — The Sweet Spot

A staggered 19-inch setup delivers the ideal balance of ride comfort, aesthetics, and performance for the G20 platform. The wider rear wheel fills the slightly wider rear fenders, creating a classic BMW rear-drive proportion.

19" Staggered Daily

The ideal configuration for daily-driven M340i and 330i builds.

  • Recommended Front: 19x8.5 ET25
  • Recommended Rear: 19x9.5 ET35
  • Street Tires: 235/40R19 Front, 265/35R19 Rear
  • Performance Tires: 245/40R19 Front, 275/35R19 Rear

Why this setup: The 40-series front sidewall provides excellent pothole protection for daily driving, while the 35-series rear gives the wider tire a slightly stiffer sidewall for crisper cornering response. ET25 front provides a flush stance at the fender lip. ET35 rear sits the wider wheel properly under the G20's modest rear quarters. For M340i xDrive owners, the wider rear tire helps the AWD system's rear-biased torque distribution put power down more efficiently — you'll notice less traction control intervention in spirited driving.

20" Staggered — Visual Statement

For owners who want the most dramatic transformation, 20-inch wheels create a show-car stance on the G20's clean body lines.

20" Staggered Street

Maximum spoke visibility and visual impact.

  • Recommended Front: 20x8.5 ET25
  • Recommended Rear: 20x9.5 ET35
  • Tires: 235/35R20 Front, 275/30R20 Rear

Why this setup: The 20" diameter showcases wheel design beautifully. The reduced sidewall creates a more responsive steering feel but sacrifices some ride comfort and pothole protection. Best for owners on smooth roads who prioritize aesthetics. Consider adding the factory adaptive dampers (if not already equipped) to maintain ride quality with the thinner tires.

19" Square — Balanced Performance

For drivers who value neutral handling and tire rotation capability, a 19-inch square setup is the smart performance choice.

03

19" Square Setup

Neutral handling and extended tire life through rotation.

  • Recommended Size: 19x9 ET25 all around
  • Street Tires: 245/40R19 Square
  • Performance Tires: 255/35R19 Square

Why this setup: The G20's non-M suspension is tuned for a comfortable, neutral balance. A square setup amplifies this by ensuring equal grip at both axles. The 245/255mm width provides excellent grip without overwhelming the standard suspension. Running square allows full front-to-rear tire rotation, extending tread life by 30–50% compared to a staggered setup — a significant cost savings for daily-driven cars.
