BMW G42 2 SERIES FITMENT
The G42 2 Series Coupe is BMW's smallest rear-wheel-drive coupe — a compact, focused driver's car that shares its platform with the G20 3 Series. The transition to the 5x112 bolt pattern means F22-generation 5x120 wheels will NOT fit. The G42's compact dimensions make it especially responsive to wheel upgrades — lightweight forged wheels have a proportionally larger impact on a smaller, lighter car. The 230i and M240i share identical wheel well dimensions, but the M240i's B58 (382 hp) benefits from wider rubber.
Quick Reference
Bolt Pattern: 5x112 | Center Bore: 66.6mm | Hub Type: Conical Seat | Lug Torque: 120 Nm (89 ft-lb)
Important: The G42 uses 5x112 — NOT the 5x120 of the previous F22. Your old F-chassis wheels will NOT bolt up.
19" Staggered — Street Standard
A staggered 19-inch setup fills the G42's compact fender wells perfectly, creating a purposeful stance that transforms the car from conservative to aggressive. The wider rear wheel provides better traction for the rear-biased xDrive or pure RWD layout.
01
19" Staggered Street
A completely flush, aggressive fitment that requires no spacers and no fender rolling.
- Recommended Front: 19x8.5 ET25
- Recommended Rear: 19x9.5 ET35
- Street Tires: 235/40R19 Front, 265/35R19 Rear
- Performance Tires: 245/40R19 Front, 275/35R19 Rear
Why this setup: The G42's compact body makes every visual element more impactful — properly fitted 19" wheels transform the car's presence entirely. ET25 front provides a flush stance without poking past the fender lip. ET35 rear tucks the wider wheel under the rear quarter panel cleanly. For M240i xDrive owners, the wider 265/275 rear tire lets the rear-biased AWD system put the B58's 382 hp down more efficiently, noticeably reducing traction control intervention during spirited driving.
19" Square — Balanced Performance
For drivers who value neutral handling and want the convenience of rotating tires to extend their life, a square setup is the smart performance choice.
02
19" Square Track
Neutral handling, tire rotation capability, and a bold stance at all four corners.
- Recommended Size: 19x9 ET25 all around
- Street Tires: 245/40R19 Square
- Performance Tires: 255/35R19 Square
Why this setup: The G42 weighs under 3,500 lbs, making it one of the lightest cars BMW offers. A square setup with 245/255mm tires provides more grip than the car's non-M suspension can fully exploit — which means you can focus on driving technique rather than chasing more tire width. Running square allows full front-to-rear tire rotation, extending tread life by 30–50%.
